Weather on Station Linné

Station Linné has unique weather statistics that reach all the way back to 1964. The data in these statistics include several parameters like precipitation, wind, ground and air temperature.

For the guest researchers at Station Linné this is included as an extra service. Others can purchase these weather data for a fee of SEK 1500 plus SEK 300 for each month of data. Welcome to contact us and we will tell you more.

Voluntary work, work experience and internship opportunities

Station Linné offers students and volunteers a variety of  trainee positions. The offer ranges from office administration, cleaning, gardening and property maintenance to our popular training in insect taxonomy.

If you would like to take part as an insect taxonomy volunteer you will have to commit to volunteering for at least five weeks, preferably longer. You will start with an introductory week which includes a unequaled education with a private teacher (scientist). Students who have completed this activity have gained unique knowledge in insect taxonomy and will be able to determine almost any insect to at least an order level anywhere in the world.

Working with students and other volunteers is very important to us, so we offer a special  discount for the accommodation at Station Linné during your time here. The normal rate for a room for one month is 6 600 SEK (today appr. ~€700), but students who are involved in the Swedish Malaise Trap Project (SMTP) or in any other way contributing to Station Linné pays only 2 000 SEK per month (today appr. ~ €210 per month or €7 per day). You may have to share a room with another volunteer if we are fully booked (common during high season May to August, but rare off-season). You are of course free to arrange your accommodation elsewhere as well at your own expense.

Volunteers are responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel expenses and Station Linné does not provide volunteers with insurance.
