Station Linné has two separate, windowless freezer facilities maintained at a constant temperature of −20 °C. Their combined storage capacity is 250 m³. Among other things, the facilities house the research station’s extensive wet collections.
The two freezer facilities are equipped with a total of 134 shelving units. Each unit is 180 cm high and consists of six shelves, each measuring 90 cm wide and 45 cm deep. The vertical clearance between shelves one to five is 32 ± 2 cm, while there is just over 70 cm of clearance between the top shelf and the ceiling.
The freezer facilities are primarily intended for Station Linné’s collections and research activities. However, subject to availability, freezer storage can also be offered to external users. These may include municipalities, county administrative boards, or other clients for whom we have processed and analysed material, for example in connection with insect surveys. Private individuals requiring temporary freezer storage, such as for insect collections affected by museum pests, may also make use of this capacity.

Individual shelf: SEK 500 is the minimum charge per shelf and applies regardless of whether storage is required for one month or a full year.
